Introducing New Works @ the BookFest

The Lake County Library System’s 12th annual Lake BookFest, Dreams and Nightmares, will spotlight new works at the Lady Lake Public Library on Friday, March 13. This is an extraordinary opportunity to meet best-selling writers talking about and signing their latest books. These talented authors of fantasy and science fiction will share details about the writing profession and their journeys to publication.

10 a.m. Journey to Publication
Lucienne Diver, Battle for the Blood, is the author of the bestselling Vamped novels and the Latter Day Olympian series with dragons, demons, gods, gorgons. Who will save the world…and who could destroy it? Vivi Barnes, Paper or Plastic, incorporates the themes of friendship, family, life, and romance into her books and Random House author Amy Christine Parker, Astray, writes fast-paced psychological thrillers, perfect for fans of creepy YA.

11:30 a.m. Mystery and Urban Fantasy

Agatha award winner Leigh Perry, The Skeleton Takes a Bow, is the author of eleven mystery novels under the name Toni Kelner, stories that feature vampires, witches, pirates, PIs, zombies, and demonic phone calls and now the Family Skeleton series. Agatha, Anthony, and Macavity Award-winning Dana Cameron, Pack of Strays, will speak about a race of vampires, werewolves, and oracles secretly dedicated to protecting humanity in the Fangborn series.

1 p.m. Fantasy and Romance
Susan Klaus, Flight of the Golden Harpy, is the recipient of the Florida Writers’ Royal Palm Literary award for Best Science Fiction. She unravels the mysteries surrounding the harpies, a feral species with the appearance half-bird, and half-human. Nicole Peeler, Tempest Reborn, is the author of the award-winning Jane True series, which follows the life of a young girl as she discovers that she isn't quite human, that supernatural beings exist.

The Friends of the Lady Lake Public Library will provide a light lunch & snacks.

2:30 p.m. Blending Epic Fantasy and Romance
Karen Chance, Reap the Wind, is a New York Times best-selling novelist and writer of the popular Cassandra Palmer and Dorina Basarab urban fantasy series with vampires, time travelers, mages and dark magic. HarperCollins author C.L. Wilson, The Winter King, is the USA Today, NY Times, and Publisher’s Weekly bestselling author of a cross-genre series that combines epic fantasy with romance and a dangerous Wintercraig magic called the Ice Heart.
