The Hunt Morning
By Christina Ertel
2003 Contest: Second Place
Wake up early.
Load up your horse,
Where are you going?
To the foxhunt, of course!
You and your pony,
All clean and ready,
Hope that all is going steady.
Take a deep breath,
Get ready to ride,
Hop on her back,
And sit up with pride.
The master brings up,
The horses and hounds,
Oh, how I love,
That beautiful sound.
The sound of joy,
The sound of pride,
With the hounds and,
Huntsman's every stride.
The blow of the horn,
We shout "Tally-Ho!"
A crack of the whip,
And Off we GO!!!
