Lake County Library System Streamlines Digital Resources as E-Magazines Move to OverDrive & Libby App
Lake County, FL — The Lake County Library System is thrilled to announce that we are making our digital resources easier to browse by consolidating two of our apps. E-magazines will now be offered to our patrons through OverDrive Magazines online and on the Libby app. This change will increase our e-magazine collection from 12 to more than 4,000 titles!
There are tons of positive results from this change. Unlike eBooks and audiobooks, there is no circulation cap. Borrowing a magazine does not use up your checkout or hold limits. There are also no late fees with OverDrive Magazines! Check out popular titles like Us Weekly, Good Housekeeping, and Vanity Fair, or visit our special-interest titles such as PC World. Titles can also be offered in a variety of languages, including Spanish, Japanese, German, French, and more.
Users can also subscribe to e-magazines, which will automatically be added to their “Magazine Rack” when released. And if you think e-magazines are just for adults – think again! OverDrive Magazines has dozens of titles for children and teens, including Time for Kids.
How-To Guide:
· Open the app
· Tap Magazines under Guides or Filters (or go to the search bar for a specific title search)
· Tap Borrow
· Choose your lending period
· Tap Borrow again
· Tap Subscribe to automatically get new issues sent to your Magazine Rack.
The Libby app is free and available for Apple and Android devices, computers, and Kindles. All you need to access our collection of titles is an active Lake Library card! Flipster will no longer be updated as of November 1, 2026.
