The Writers' Page

The Lake County Library System invites local residents to submit original unpublished stories, plays and poems for our website. All works will be reviewed by the Lake County Library System Publication Committee and acceptance is subject to review and availability of space. You will be notified in writing or by email of your work is selected. Originals will not be returned so keep a copy if necessary.

NOTE: Please try to limit works to 2500 words or less. Also, please bear in mind that our web site is viewed by children. We request that work be family-appropriate as it may be read by our youth. Thank you for your understanding.

You can submit your work three ways:

1. Bring your work directly to any of the Lake County Library System libraries
2. Send your submissions through the mail, or
3. Sumbit your entries online. (Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word documents only)

To submit to your work online:
Click here to go to our online submission page. Fill out the required information and then upload your work in PDF or Microsoft Word format.

To submit to your library in person or via mail:
Download and fill out the information/release form.
Attach a typewritten copy of your ORIGINAL unpublished work.
Submit the hard copies of the information/release form and your work to any of the libraries or via the mail.
