The W. T. Bland Public Library Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

You’re invited to the W. T. Bland Public Library (Mount Dora) 19th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, December 2nd starting at 4:30pm.

While we can’t promise you snow, we can promise you gingerbread, Christmas carols, candy canes, cookies and punch.  There will be a special performance by the Bay Street Players Young People’s Theatre and Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive to lead everyone to the Library’s Christmas tree and with a wave of his hand turn on the Christmas tree lights.  In addition you can make holiday ornaments with the PAWS Therapy Dogs after the Christmas Tree Lighting.

Young People’s Theatre is the oldest continually running children’s theatre program in Central Florida. Students ages 7 – 18 learn and create in year-round performance classes that end with full scale productions. Team work is emphasized as they learn dance routines, music and lines. The YPT school tour consists of advanced students, ages 13 to 18, who tour yearly with a free production presented to more than 6,000 Lake County elementary students

Please bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the Lake Cares Food Pantry or a new toy or new clothing to donate to Mount Dora’s Adopt-a-Child or Two Program.  Pet food is also appropriate and will be donated to the Lake County Humane Society or the Cat Protection Society.

The W. T. Bland Public Library Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at the W. T. Bland Public Library located at 1995 N. Donnelly Street in Mount Dora.  All Library programs are free and open to the public.  For additional information, please email garryl@cityofmountdora.com or call (352) 735-7180 option 5.
