Once again Timothy Totten will entertain and educate you at the same time with the story of The Wright Women on Tuesday, June 2 at 6:30pm at the W. T. Bland Public Library in Mount Dora.
This entertaining ninety minute presentation details the lives of the four women Frank Lloyd Wright loved through photos and stories of the houses he built for them. From the devoted mother of six, Catherine to the fiercely independent and scholarly Mamah, from the tortured and addicted Miriam to his final bedrock wife, Olgivanna, Wright’s life and career follows the trajectory of his relationships, sometimes fiery, but always passionate, with these four remarkable women. Through hundreds of photographs and dozens of intimate recounts, master storyteller Timothy Totten weaves a unique tale of love, adultery, murder, drug abuse and redemption to illustrate the career of America’s greatest architect.
This is a free presentation graciously sponsored by Hillcrest Insurance Agency of Mount Dora, Florida.
For Totten, who has studied the famous architect for almost 25 years and visited nearly 100 Wright-designed sites around the United States, the presentations are a chance to share his passion with the community. “Great architects can impart emotions with their buildings,” says Totten. “If I can communicate that feeling to you and maybe get you to laugh or even cry as I tell you the stories, I’ve done my job.”
