All children are invited to join Lake County Library System’s Summer Reading Program and attend free activities and events that are exciting and fun! Students’ study and progress during the school year but during summer months may fall behind. Young readers and their families are invited to team up with Lake County Library System staff to prevent this “summer slide” phenomenon.
The public librarians in Lake County care about your children and have planned exciting programs to keep them reading and learning all summer. It is a fact that children who participate in summer library programs keep their minds active and enter school in August ready to learn and ready to succeed. In 2015 children will explore all things heroic this summer with interactive experiences galore including reading incentives, special presenters, story times, superhero costume creation, group games, physical challenges, art projects and more. Teens will unmask their hidden abilities such as trick photography, gaming and reading for prizes.
To discover how you can join in the summer fun, stop in at a Lake County Library System library nearest you for a schedule or use the Lake County Library System’s website and click on your library’s summer reading brochure. Some libraries may request registration.
Remember, public library programs are free of charge. For information call Linda Goff, Youth Services Coordinator at 352-253-6169 or email lgoff@lakeline.lib.fl.us
