  • African Storytelling
    Sunday, February 15 at 3:00 pm at the Civic Center
    Tavares Public Library presents Dr. Harriet Masembe, an American citizen African storyteller and English Professor at Lake Sumter State College, Leesburg Florida. Her African storytelling program introduces through stories, songs and slides of African cities. The audience participates in singing, drumming and Q & A.

  • Nourish Your Bones and Joints will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9,  in the Tavares Civic Center from 2:00-3:30 p.m. Julie England will speak on how to keep your bones in good shape, how to loose joint stiffness, and how to stay mobile. Roots and Branches Genealogy Group
Monthly discussions in the library conference room feature various history related topics including family heirlooms, how to determine historical periods in undated photographs, old family recipes, and how to begin researching your family tree.

Chess Club
Whether you are just learning chess or you've been playing for years, come and enjoy some competition and strategy time at the library. All ages are welcome. Second Saturday of each month.

Library Book Club
Discuss the featured book of the month with other bibliophiles. Call the library to be placed on the hold list for the upcoming month's book.
