National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL)
The National Center for Family Literacy is a nonprofit organization supporting family literacy services for families across the United States. NCFL supports the four-component national family literacy program model which brings parents and children into the learning environment together Today, the organization is known worldwide as the leader in family literacy.
National Institute for Literacy (NIFL)
The National Institute for Literacy is an independent federal organization leading the national effort toward a fully literate nation in the 21st century. Their mission is to ensure that the highest quality of literacy services is available by fostering communication, collaboration, and innovation. NIFL works to build and strengthen a comprehensive, unified system for literacy in the United States.
ProLiteracy
ProLiteracy Worldwide is a nonprofit international literacy organization based in Syracuse, NY, that was formed by the 2002 merger of Laubach Literacy International and Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc. ProLiteracy Worldwide is now the oldest and largest nongovernmental literacy organization in the world and pursues a mission of sponsoring educational programs that help adults and their families acquire the literacy practices and skills they need to function more effectively in their daily lives.

Primarily designed for children in first grade, Starfall.com is an easy to use and kid-friendly site that helps children learn to read.
The Center for Adult English Language Acquisition (CAELA)
CAELA replaces the National Center for ESL Literacy Education (NCLE), also housed at CAL, which (since 1989) has provided information and technical assistance to professionals who work with adult English language learners. In the meantime, this Web site will be transitioning to meet the needs of the new Center while continuing to serve the needs of practitioners, programs, and states who work with adult English language learners.
