is presented by

Insight Credit Union

The Lake County Library System is proud to announce the 14th annual Bookmark Design Contest for Lake County K-12 students and adults. This year’s theme was ¡Viva Libros! to support the 10th annual Lake County BookFest which took place from March 11th through the 16th, 2013. Libraries planned activities and events that celebrate Florida's 500th anniversary throughout the year, joining with Viva Florida 500, a state wide initiative to promote Florida’s diverse heritage and 500 years of history, the longest recorded history of any state in our country.

All students (K-12) and adults in Lake County were encouraged to enter as many times as they wish. Winning designs were unveiled at the awards presentation on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. during the Authors' Reception at the W.T. Bland Public Library and are visible on this website. The winning bookmark designs are now available at all 15 libraries in the Lake County Library System, and are printable from the library system’s web site. Prizes included gift cards for 1st - 3rd prize winners.

About the Annual Bookmark Design Contest

Every year the LCLS Libraries hold a Bookmark Design contest for all students (K-12) in Lake County, and in 2010, decided to open the contest to adults as well. Participants may enter as many times as they wish. Entries are judged for originality, neatness and printability. Each contest brings a different theme to follow.

Winning bookmarks are printed and distributed at all 15 libraries in the Lake County Library System. It is a wonderful opportunity for the aspiring artist and designers to show their talents to the community. Winning bookmarks are also posted on this website where anyone in the world can see their work!
